It’s no secret that New York is home to many celebrities, whether they’re establishing a pied-à-terre or making a full-time home. From the Upper East Side to the trendiest downtown neighborhoods, Manhattan is the most star-studded of all the boroughs. Let’s take a look at some of the most beautiful homes owned by celebrities around NYC.

Mindy Kaling’s Nolita Nook

Mindy Kaling recently made over her studio with the help of designers from One Kings Lane, resulting in a bright, “Midcentury meets Moroccan” look. The creator and star of The Mindy Project plans to split her time between her L.A. home and this chic pad in Nolita.

Ryan Seacrest’s Upper East Side Townhouse

This six-bedroom townhouse in Lenox Hill goes for $75,000 per month, and ABC Live! co-host Ryan Seacrest moved in this May. According to Curbed, the owner of the 11,000 square foot house purchased it for $11.5 million in 2011. Just steps from Central Park, the townhouse has a master suite that spans the entire third floor, a roof garden, and six fireplaces. Seacrest is undoubtedly comfortable in this newly renovated, modern-looking home.

Justin Timberlake’s Swanky Tribeca Penthouse

443 Greenwich Street is famous for housing celebs including Jake Gyllenhaal, Meg Ryan, Blake Lively, and now, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel. Timberlake reportedly bought this penthouse for himself and Biel for just over $2.1 million back in May. 443 Greenwich markets itself as “paparazzi-proof,” which makes it appealing to celebrities like Timberlake and Biel for obvious reasons. The unit Timberlake purchased comes with a private terrace that measures more than 5,000 square feet, indoor parking, and a 24-hour concierge.

Gloria Steinem’s Cozy Upper East Side Brownstone

This floor-through unit was originally listed at $975,000, and feminist icon Gloria Steinem snatched it up in June. Located at 118 East 73rd Street, the unit comes with two working fireplaces, high ceilings, and proximity to Central Park. Steinem first moved into 119 East 73rd Street in 1996, but then she was a renter and had a roommate. Now, she’s got a room of her own – three rooms, to be exact.

Anderson Cooper’s West Village Renovation

Back in 2010, Anderson Cooper bought a 1906 firehouse at 84 West 3rd Street for $4.3 million. He worked with architect Cary Tamarkin to renovate the building’s interiors, mixing modern color palettes with charming turn-of-the-century details, such as brass firemen and a gym with built in the style of a 1900’s firemen’s gymnasium.

Jonah Hill’s Airy NoHo Loft

Jonah Hill, known for his roles in movies like The Wolf of Wall Street and 21 Jump Street, bought a 3,280 square foot loft in The Schumacher at 36 Bleecker Street last year for $9,164,250. The 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom NoHo home is a 1,200 square foot upgrade from his previous living space in SoHo, Streeteasy reports. With 12-foot ceilings, oversize wood-framed windows, and restored original beams and columns, Hill’s residence in The Schumacher is ideal for soaking in the sun and displaying large-scale art.

Ashley Olsen’s Modern East Village Condo

Former child actress and current fashion mogul Ashley Olsen purchased her 3,000 square-foot condo last year for $6,750,000 – over $2 million below the original asking price! The floor-through unit contains 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, and sits in a renovated 1898 building that used to hold an art gallery. With 11-foot ceilings, a private elevator, and top-of-the-line modern appliances, Olsen’s condo at 37 East 12th Street is a work of art in its own right.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Megamansion-in-Progress

Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick purchased the two brownstones at 273 and 275 West 11th Street, and work permits were posted in January. The townhouses cost the celebrity couple a total of $34.5 million, and permits indicating interior demolition seem to imply they’ll be making a 14,000 square foot megamansion out of the two buildings.

From cozy studios to expansive lofts and massive mansions, celebrity real estate in NYC runs the gamut in terms of size, style, and trendy neighborhood locales.
